Multiple members of our team are Halloween babies. That makes them witches and warlocks, we think. Pumpkinhead, also called the Demon of Vengeance, is a fictional character featured in the 1988 horror film "Pumpkinhead." The original creature was designed by Stan Winston. In the films, the demon can be conjured by a summoner to exact revenge on anyone who wronged them by viciously killing them. The targets are "marked" for death and no matter where they go, Pumpkinhead will always find them. The only way to kill the creature is to kill its conjurer. The more summoners there are in the ritual, the bigger and stronger Pumpkinhead is. If anyone stops Pumpkinhead, their soul is cursed with damnation. The only way to cleanse it is for Pumpkinhead to kill them. In the original film, Pumpkinhead was first conjured by a man named Edward Harley, who desired vengeance after his son " Keep away from Pumpkinhead, unless you're tired of living, His enemies are mostly dead, He's mean and unforgiving, Laugh at him and you're undone, But in some dreadful fashion, Vengeance, he considers fun, And plans it with a passion, Time will not erase or blot, A plot that he has brewing, It's when you think that he's forgot, He' ll conjure your undoing, Bolted doors and widows barred, Guard dogs prowling in the yard, Won't protect you in your bed, Nothing will, from Pumpkinhead!" — Ed Justin reciting the Pumpkinhead poem Pumpkinhead, also called the Demon of Vengeance, is a fictional character featured in the 1988 horror film "Pumpkinhead."
