Engineered to be street- friendly while also improving low-speed off-road performance, the kit includes a Dual Friction clutch and a heavy-duty billet steel flywheel. Weighing 50 pounds (compared to the OE 33-pound unit), the Centerforce high-inertia flywheel is designed to help maintain engine rpm in rough terrain. A purpose-designed double slip joint helps avoid cracking in turbo exhaust manifolds due to thermal strain. LS Connecting Rods CP-Carrillo, Irvine, California, presents its LS Series Connecting Rods for normally aspirated and boosted applications, available in 6.125- and 6.350-inch lengths. The NA models are designed for 900-hp drag, drift and road race engines. The HD boosted series is designed for up to 2,400- hp drag, drift and road race applications. The rods are forged from proprietary 4330M for strength, fully machined and shot-peened for stress relief, and come with premium silicone bronze bushing for full floating pins and CARR multiphase fasteners. Stingray Performance Packages Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE), Decatur, Indiana, presents its expertly tuned Performance Package Series for the new 2014 Corvette Stingray, with power starting at 550 hp and reaching as high as 750 hp with forced induction. The seventh- generation Corvette's new 6.2-liter LT1 engine features technologies that include direct injection, variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation. Calibration allows greater airflow enabled by the CNC-ported cylinder heads and higher-lift camshaft to be converted into more power at the rear wheels.
