(GG): If you are a supplier to the au- tomotive soft trim industry, we'd suggest carrying at least one roll each of Haartz Black Stayfast, Black Twillfast, Black Pin- point, Black Sailcloth and Black Cabrio grain convertible toppings. 2014 COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS We've developed very deep relationships with the key pickup manufacturers, allow- ing us to bring product to market for new vehicle models faster than anyone else in the industry. (RTA): How did the market within your segment perform in 2014? KEVIN PAGE (KP): The tonneau mar- ket is very strong and the market for pick- up caps remains solid. (RTA): How do you expect your market segment will perform in 2015? (KP): Based upon feedback from deal- ers, customers and our partners, we ex- pect 2015 to be exceptional. The launch have a reputation of designing and pro- ducing quality and be able to show and explain the differences to their customers. Counterman education is key. If they focus on this, functional products will sell themselves. 2014 COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS Our development and introduction of Forté, the next generation of acoustically enhanced PVC convertible topping. (RTA): How did the market within your segment perform in 2014? GORDON GOODWIN (GG): After a very slow start in the spring the market recovered well and looks like it will end even with 2013. (RTA): How do you expect your market segment will perform in 2015? (GG): We are expecting minimal growth of a couple percent for 2015. (RTA): Are there any particular trends or changes that will affect your market seg- ment in 2015? (GG): The impact of imported fabrics could have an impact, however, we have received strong market feedback over the course of 2014 that domestic materials from proven suppliers are preferred at multiple market levels. (RTA): What are some challenges re- stylers within your market segment face in 2015? (GG): OEs continue to produce more advanced and complex convertible tops, and suppliers have to keep up with these advances to replace and install new top- ping material. (RTA): What are some ways restylers within your market segment can boost business this year? INDUSTRY LEADERS: Q&A HAARTZ CORP. TRUCK ACCESSORIES GROUP (TAG) of the new Colorado, Canyon and F-150 will bolster sales of both pickups and ac- cessories such as our caps and tonneaus. (RTA): Are there any particular trends or changes that will affect your market seg- ment in 2015? (KP): Despite anyone's view on the econ- omy, positive or negative, consumers will continue to hold on dearly to the hobbies they most enjoy. Whether it's hunting, fishing, offroading or any other outdoor activity, enthusiasts need these pleasant distractions and will buy products that make these activities more enjoyable. (RTA): What are some challenges re- stylers within your market segment face in 2015? (KP): The key struggle is being competi- tive and profitable—ultimately closing the sale. We here at TAG are working hard to provide quality products with features and benefits that help our jobber partners sell more product. (RTA): What are some ways restylers within your market segment can boost business this year? (KP): Service still matters. Jobbers should look to their manufacturers to ob- tain additional support, including delivery and price, and to help support the overall sales the effort. (RTA): What products are important for our readers to stock in 2015? (KP): We launched a retractable tonneau cover, SWITCHBLADE, the easiest ton- neau to use and install on the market today.
