28 n Performance & Hotrod Business n February 2015 PERFORMANCE Moroso Performance Products Competition Engineering Guilford, Connecticut Thor Schroeder National Marketing & New Product Manager Our hottest product for the 2015 Drag Racing season is … … all of them! Seriously, our hottest prod- uct is not even a product at all—it is the team of employees here at Moroso and Competition Engineering that support our customers. That includes our in-house customer service department that takes the orders and is available to answer questions about previously placed orders, our in-house R&D staff that engineers the products and is constantly involved in making sure that quality expectations are being met, and our in-house technical department that is available to answer customers' questions and has been known to go to the shop floor to gather information. Above and beyond this is our com- pany's push to have detailed instructions included with the products and available on our website. The outside factor that could poten- tially have the greatest impact on the Drag Racing market this year is … … the economy. Most people have to feel secure in their financial status before they go to the track. Shops should be excited about serv- ing Drag Racing customers in 2015 because … … well, if the PRI 2014 show was any factor, this year should be great for the industry. Excitement was in the air and our customers were telling us that foot traffic and phone sales at their locations were strong. With gas prices being at their lowest in five years, getting to the track will be cheaper, which will mean stronger fields and more events for each racer. The stock market is also currently strong, so let's have great, positive attitudes and go forward. Discovery Channel's TV show Street Outlaws shows a gritty side of Drag Racing that gets people thinking about the sport and how to go faster, and it has a huge viewership. Jiffy-tite Co. Inc. Lancaster, New York Duane LaFleur Motorsports Manager Our hottest product for the 2015 Drag Racing season is … … Jiffy-tite is proud to release the new Pro Compact Series quick-connect fluid fittings. Its best features include … … the Pro Compact Series includes the same size fittings as the standard AN fit- tings on the market but in quick-connect form. Along with the all the features that Jiffy-tite has offered with its valved fittings, the Pro Compact Series offers no strip- ping, cross-threading, over-tightening, forgetting to tighten and, best of all, no tools needed to connect and disconnect. The biggest misconception performance shops have when serving the Drag Racing market is … … that change is a bad thing. Over the past several years, technology has evolved in the drag racing market and so has plumbing. Jiffy-tite has introduced a line of quick- connect fittings that make plumbing safer, faster and easier for racers. As we say, it's "plumbing simplified." The outside factor that could potentially have the greatest impact on the Drag Racing market this year is … … gas prices. The cost of racing fuel and fuel for tow vehicles com- ing down in price will allow the racing community to afford to travel and attend more events. Shops should be excited about serving Drag Racing customers in 2015 because … … the drag racing market contin- ues to grow. Over the past couple of years, we have seen the number of entries at drag racing events increase. This is why we feel 2015 will be an exciting year for every- body in the market.
