HOTROD E very trade has its cliques, and the auto- motive industry is no exception, but Johnny Martin and Ron Johnson wanted something more. Martin, a lauded custom- car builder in Alamosa, Colorado, and Johnson, president and CEO of Colorado Springs-based Central Bancorp, estab- lished Johnny Martin's Car Central, a pri- vate car club with initiatives to unite all kinds of car lovers and help vehicle build- ers do business. Celebrating Everything Auto The members-only club, located in downtown Colorado Springs, is a sleek locale with $70,000 racecar simulators, slot car track set, pool table, high-end bar and restaurant, plush furniture—and nearly a dozen immaculate vehicles on display. "Ron and I really wanted to get dif- ferent people together because people in the car world are usually in cliques," says Martin, a 25-year veteran of the car industry and owner of Johnny's Auto Trim & Rod Shop. "One of our intentions was to bring those groups of people together and have a place where the hot rod guy could stand next to the Porsche guy and the Porsche guy next to the racecar guys. We wanted to build a place that was for everybody to mingle." The vehicle displays at Johnny Martin's Car Central change monthly and feature Johnny Martin's Car Central delivers a contemporary, vehicle- centered environment to mingle and do business. Welcome to the club
