The acquisition is the second by Lund Inter- national in fewer than two months. The company pur- chased Rampage Products in December. Lund International is a portfolio company of High- lander Partners, L.P. "This acquisition, Lund's fifth since Highlander ac- quired the company in 2011, is the largest addition to date and significantly strengthens Lund's geographic presence and unmatched depth of product offering in the automotive aftermarket ac- cessories market," said Jeff L. Hull, chairman of Lund International and a managing partner of Highlander. "We are excited to continue leveraging the strength of our brand and distribution capabilities to ensure Bush- wacker's products reach the broadest audience pos- sible." Bushwacker operations will continue to be conduct- ed from its existing facilities and will be led by Russ Morgan, Bushwacker president and CEO, who joins the lunds international team. "We do research every year on where our products are used and where they are not," Commette said. "Over the years, the truck market has blossomed and still looks to be growing." ROUGHGUARD is a fast set, rapid curing, 100-percent solids, flexible, two-component polyurea elastomer spray coating material. "A lot of typical truck bed liner products hybridize to lower the price and the effect is sometimes a cheap- ened or weaker type system," Commette said. "Pure polyurea is typically a much more robust, tougher and durable material for the truck bed liner market." Commette said Versaflex has plans for variations of the ROUGHGUARD product moving forward. A new trade association is forming in the consumer electronics market to represent distribution companies. Ray Windsor of Orange County, Califbased Leadership Systems said the new group, called the Mobile Electron- ics Distributor merchandising group (MED), is in high demand among distributor companies and suppliers alike. "It seems that just about every channel of business in the CE space has its key participants represented by an association, buying group or merchandising co-op of some sort," Windsor said. "The last bastions of the un- represented are the mobile electronics distributors." MED will work to defragment and improve the retailer-distributor-supplier supply chain, according to Windsor. "Many 12-volt distributors and the retailers who use and depend on the distributors for just-in-time inven- tory, information about products, business practices and sales training feel like they are often on the stinging side of the whip," he said, "A slightly more organized ap- proach to their collective business endeavors seems to have been so far welcomed by some prominent distribu- tors."
