Building on a Brand After the acquisition, Torrance, Calif.- based Aries Automotive and CURT Manufacturing began coordinating its efforts with Aries president, Jeff Perez. "Aries is an established brand, and they have an excellent product line," Hooks says. "Jeff Perez has an enormous amount of product and industry knowledge, and quite simply, we want to build on those attributes. Our vision is to take what they have and build on it." All the qualities CURT's cus- tomers relish about the company will be integrated into Aries' operations, including high order- fill rates, same-day shipping, one- to two-day delivery times and a dedicated sales staff, according to Hooks. "Right now, we're really focused on getting the companies up and running as a team," he says. Last May, the Eau Claire, Wis.-based manufacturer of towing products acquired Aries Automotive, a maker of truck accessories and Jeep products, including side steps, grille guards, headache racks and floor liners. "Most of our customers encouraged us to do this," says Greg Hooks, CURT Manufacturing CEO. "We listen to our customers. That's how CURT grew, and we're going to do the same with Aries."
