CP: It would have to be a Jimco Trophy Truck. PHB: What's on your computer/ phone wallpaper? CP: A photo of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. PHB: Who is the person you'd most like to meet? CP: Clint Eastwood. PHB: Please finish this sentence. "If I wasn't in the performance aftermarket, I'd probably be …" CP: Off-road racing. S ome people have the golden touch and can accomplish many great things in a relatively short period of time. Chris Paulsen is one of those people. The owner of cooling products com- pany C&R Racing in Indianapolis, his list of industry achievements is impressive. Chris is a true racing and performance enthusiast, and his career in racing goes all the way back to the young age of 13. As his company works to bring racing technology to high-performance street vehicles, you can credit people like Chris for keeping our aftermarket industry strong. Here are some of his thoughts. PHB: Hi Chris. Thanks for speaking with us today. What got you interested in the automotive aftermarket? CP: I've been involved in professional motorsports my entire life. I'm 55 years old, and it's all I've done for a living. We've developed a great brand in cool- ing, thanks to the power of the NASCAR marketing machine. We've backed up that brand by providing the best teams in rac- ing with the most efficient cooling systems available. We decided three years ago to bring our brand to the high-performance aftermarket (HPA). PHB: How did you end up in the posi- tion you have today? CP: I'm fortunate to own a very good company that's been in business for 26 years. I started out working on Sprint cars, building Sprint cars, and eventually working my way to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as an IndyCar chief mechanic. I've worked with some of the greatest drivers in the sport like Sammy Swindell, Pancho Carter, Al Holbert, Johnny Rutherford, and Gordon Johncock. I've taken that experience into C&R, where we took it to the rest of the professional racing world. PHB: Tell us about your company and its place in the performance aftermarket.
