Page 21 of 64 May 2015 | Restyling & tRuck AccessoRies 19 What is the most important trend in the SUV/CUV aftermarket right now? Continued growth in the SUV market, especially the smaller-sized vehicles. What is driving this trend? Increased gas prices years ago certainly drove consumers to think of more economical ways to get from point A to point B. Now that we're experiencing some lower gas prices, new vehicle designs and perhaps improved vehicle economy are contributing to continued consumer purchases. Demographically, what type of consumer does this trend most appeal to? The SUV segment pertains to several demographics, including the con- sumer who had to make more budget-conscious decisions due to unfore- seen circumstances in the economy. Also the consumer who is style conscious and has these perceptions about SUVs: • Safer than a car because they're bigger and heavier; • Provides easier navigation because they're typically seated higher, making it easier to see ahead on the road; • Enhances lifestyle with more cargo space for toys, groceries and kids all at once. How has Keystone Automotive Operations responded to this trend? We carry a variety of running boards (aluminum, steel, plastic) and nerf bars (3-inch round to 6-inch oval) in mild and stainless. Some include lights, or automatically retract when the door opens to provide both ease of entry and to meet style needs. For the interior, we offer floor mats and bed mats. For the front end, we sell grille guards and bull bars and even replace- ment bumpers to protect the vehicle, as well as provide personalized cus- tomization so the vehicle looks unique while meeting functional needs. Other products we carry include bug shields to protect the front wind- shield, side protection to deflect wind, SUV towing products to pull toys like RVs, roof racks and carriers for kayaks, bikes and luggage.
