6 • A&E MARCH 2016 T rade show season is here! You can feel it. Yes, I said feel it. With THE NBM SHOW – Arlington just around the corner, the excitement and expectation can be felt, especially here at NBM headquarters. You know that tingling sensation you get when you're gearing up for the holiday season or introducing a new product to your customers for the first time? In fact, I would compare this feeling to the one you get when the holiday season is just starting. Think about it: It's not quite Christmas, but ornaments are already being ordered and decorations are coming out of storage. Food is being bought for Thanksgiving meals and family plans are being made. It's the anticipation—the expectation— that really gets the heart pumping. Are you ready for trade show season? Have you scoped out which of THE NBM SHOW(s) you're going to attend? Do you plan to travel nearby (or far) to capitalize on everything the season has to offer? Much like Thanksgiving and Christmas, the anticipation and excitement for trade show season is fully loaded with potential. And much like those holidays, you as an attendee want to make sure you're prepared. Of course, preparations began long before this month around here, but the fact that March 10 is almost upon us has brought the anticipation to another level. The buzz about the educational opportunities is humming along in steady rhythm. The exhibitor list is long and full. And it's not just Arlington that's creating a hubbub. THE NBM SHOW is bringing seven different locations to the 2016 calendar including Arlington. Seven. That's seven opportunities to visit exhibitors, attend educational classes, talk to manufacturers and suppliers, and find that perfect product that you've been looking for. That's seven times to celebrate throughout the trade show season. There are options for everyone, different "gifts" if you will. Say you live in the Northwest; that's what the Portland 2-DAY show is for. Or maybe you prefer to have more days available to attend; we have several shows that run three days. A gift for everyone that keeps on giving throughout the entire season. To fully prepare, I recommend making a list (and checking it twice…). Who is exhibiting at the shows you're attending that you must see? What classes are being offered that you must attend? What products are you in need of that you must find? Such a list is crucial in order to fully reap the benefits of trade show season. Do you feel it, that tingling excitement? 'Tis the season, and I hope you are prepared.
