Beginning with the client's idea, Braden Todd moves forward, adding his skills to improve the piece. "So they get their idea still, but it's finely done." And he doesn't get discouraged if he has to make different designs to satisfy his cus- tomers. "In the end, if I gave them five samples, and they only chose one, I still designed four new awards. Nothing's ever really wasted," he says. That's one reason he wants to move into wholesale sales. "We have so many designs, so many concepts," he says. "I know they're great awards and that other people could really sell them well. It's a different design than what is currently offered elsewhere." After sandcarving a blue glass water bottle for Blue Bottle Love, Richard Carriker places it with the others in the order. Here, you can also see a close-up of the design.
