The award is granted on a yearly basis to franchise owners and families who have owned their business for 40 years or longer. The company began franchising in 1975, so the earliest any owner would have hit this marker would have been 2015, making Duckworth one of the first to be acknowledged with this accomplishment. "Len Duckworth and his son, Todd, have always been the pioneers of Minuteman Press in the midwest, and I couldn't see a more fitting award to go to Todd than our Pioneer Award," says Bob Titus, president and CEO. "The Duckworth name is synonymous with the Minuteman Press franchise family, and we look forward to many more years together." Learn more: www.bit.ly/MinutemanPressPioneerAward2018. Sawgrass and Condé Each Sponsor Sublimation Contests Three members of the Sublimation for Beginners and Beyond Facebook page won prizes from Condé in a Valentine's Day or love-themed contest. The winner of the first prize went to Jennifer Orchard. She opted into the $250 credit from Condé. She says, "I just started my business, Orchard Avenue Press, in 2017 … I was excited to hear that I had won, especially since my business is so new. It has been a confidence booster knowing that other people liked my design work." The second prize winner, Pat Woessner, was given a $100 credit to Condé. She says, "I entered this contest to have fun and to challenge myself," and that this win is "another push to be more creative." The third, and final, prize went to Fran Harris, who received a $50 credit to Condé. Harris explains that her entry will be used as a gift to a local high school basketball coach and his new bride. Bruton's sub- mission included a crossover sling bag with a sublimated flap closure, featuring artwork that shows a woman alongside the quotation, "I am loved." She was randomly selected by Sawgrass and will receive her choice of one cartridge of ink. Bruton elaborates on her winning entry, saying, "I have a theme that I use called my #encouragement series. In this series, I put motivational words to help little girls feel special. This bag is a part of (that)."
