At an industry trade show held at the Dubai World Trade Center, the companies also celebrated their part- nership of more than 25 years. A full portfolio of Mimaki equipment was displayed at the Signtrade booth. At a special 30 th anniversary party held at the swanky Armani Hotel in Dubai, the event saw attendance from both Mimaki Europe and Mimaki engineering, with Akira Ikeda, the executive chairman of Mimaki Engineering, receiving the Excellence Award from Signtrade. Biesse Distributors Attend 2018 Dealer Academy in Italy Charlotte, North Carolina-based Biesse, a manufacturer of CNC machinery for wood, plastics, metal and engi- neered materials, announces that it recently welcomed its distributors from across North America to the company's world headquarters in Pesaro, Italy. The company says the aim of the five-day event was to offer dealers a platform for continuous training from Biesse product specialists, all of whom have more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Dealers received comprehensive training on the company's complete range of CNC machines, edgebanders, sanders and panel saws along with guided factory tours for each product category. Pesaro is a coastal city along the Adriatic Sea whose founding dates back to the Roman era. The company was founded there in 1969. AXYZ Announces Six CNC Router Expo Events Burlington, Ontario, Canada-based engraving and cutting systems maker AXYZ International announces its first series of two-day CNC router expos. Six of them have been announced for the U.S. and Canada. The company says attendees will be able to view AXYZ's extensive line of CNC machines installed with the latest options and upgrades. Router specialists from the company will be onsite to provide in-depth demon- strations and custom solutions, as well as answer questions on material processing, machine configura- tions, software and tooling. The events will be held at AXYZ sales and demo centers. The dates and cities for the events are as follows: Apr. 12-13 in Tampa, Florida; Apr. 25-26 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; May 9-10 in Somerset, New Jersey; May 23-24 in Cincinnati, Ohio; May 30-31 in Laval, Quebec, Canada; and June 13-14 in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. FASTSIGNS Named One of the Best Franchises of 2018 Carrollton, Texas-based sign shop franchisor FASTSIGNS International Inc. announces that it has been named one of the Best Franchises of 2018 by Military Times magazine—the only brand in its category to be so recognized in the rankings. The news outlet that covers the military hands out those annual awards to companies that offer significant benefits to military veterans and active-duty service members.
